AMBULATORY CARE CENTER & MOB
Utilizing LEAN project delivery, this project consisted of construction of a new Ambulatory Care Center. The facility is located in Covington, Kentucky, near the 12th street exit off I-75. The building is a three-story, 120,000 SF facility that accommodates outpatient medical services. The first floor, 52,000 SF, is occupied by the St. Elizabeth Medical Center. It houses an Emergency Department as well as a state-of-the-art Radiology Department. There is also a laboratory, Physical Therapy Department, Women’s Center, Wound Care, and a Dialysis Clinic. A Bistro and other retail outlets are located in the building core. The second and third floors, both 30,000 SF, contain medical office space for multiple healthcare tenants. The facility also sports a roof covered in vegetation, known as a ‘green roof’, for which KLH provided engineering design services for drainage and roof hydrants.
For SEMC’s Ambulatory Care & MOB facility, KLH demonstrated facilities planning leadership. There are many entities to serve on a project of this size and KLH was able to present design concepts and gain consensus from both the developer and hospital facilities staff to achieve a successful project.
