DETENTION CENTER

The Kenton County Jail was a new 155,000 SF facility designed for the expanding needs of the county. It contained a large vehicle sally port, booking and administrative offices, complete kitchen and laundry services, and men and women dormitories and isolation rooms. Energy efficiency was a high priority in the design of this facility including such features as daylight harvesting.  The power distribution system was designed so the entire facility is backed up by a generator in the event of a utility power outage, and bulk fuel storage was used to accommodate extended outages. Systems design included capacity for future additions.
